Though it is not the fi rst time I meet Maslows pyramid of needs, what I liked about this text is that it clearly explains how to retain Maslows theory to real situations of acculturating appeal to higher needs, such as usefulness or self-esteem, does not work up until the lower needs, such as security of friendship, are met.The author also describes iv models of acculturation general model, the heros journey, the surprise and sense-making model, and the comprehensive model of stress, adaptation and growth.
